Padam Dungri Eco Tourism - Best Campsite Near Surat City

Padamdungri  is an ecotourism site situated on the bank of the river Ambika among the Sahyadri hill range in the state of Gujarat.  Padamdungri is the name of the village by which the site has been developed, the village lies in dense forest that neighbours Vansda National park and the forest of the dang district.  The nearest town to the place is Vyara which is around 30kms from the site and the nearest village to the site is Unai which is located at a distance of 8kms. It is easily accessible by road, you can visit the site with your private vehicle or through public transportation.

The site hosts beautiful view from tree houses developed in a closed enclosure with a trail that leads into the forests to explore the plant life. The enclosure also hosts various activities such as rifle shooting, atv ride, zip line across the river Ambika and archery. Tent houses and small cottages have been developed for the tourists who intend to stay overnight which can be booked on site. Padamdungri Ecotourism spot also has Greenhouse, Cactus house and Medicinal plant plot to showcase the plant diversity of the area. You can take a 30 min walk down the trails to explore gigantic teak wood plants and also spot some wild spiders during your walk. 

The site can be visited during Monsoon and Winters when the lush green forests create a scenic attraction. During rainy weather the road leading towards the site has plenty of small streams and waterfalls give this place a vibe of its own. However, its not advisable to visit during the summer season since the temperature exceeds 35 degrees and dry weather would make it difficult to explore in the noons. The site is not so well developed for fancy restaurants or eateries, tourists are usually not allowed to carry food from outside, however there is a restaurant in the site that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is made with local ingredients and can be savoured to taste the flavours and aromas of Adivasi Culture. 

The Ecotourism site is calm and peaceful, the place is provided with plenty of open and airy areas to enjoy the view. There are platforms created on the tree houses to let you enjoy scenic views. There is also an access created to the bank of the river where there is a small dam. You could take a walk down the river bank to spot some wildlife and birds, during monsoons you can also find local fishermen. 

Overall, Padamdungri Ecotourism site is an amazing place to visit for a one day trip. It can serve to be an escape from a busy city life to get into the nature, relax and unwind yourself.
